Networking & Events Communication
Calling all Social Butterflies – are you new in town, new to the industry, just graduating or simply looking for a way to meet new & cool people, join the Networking & Events committee. Not only will you become more familiar with local Vancouver vendors and strengthen your event-planning skills; being on the Networking committee means you will meet the most influential individuals in the video game industry as well as crossover industries due to WIGeh’s affiliation with other great Associations like Wired Women.
The committee will be responsible for planning all upcoming events/activities for WIGeh which includes booking venues, ensuring all equipment needs are managed (AV, recording for the WIGeh website, collecting prizes for giveaway and creating new ways to reach potential new members and the industry at large).
Online & community Management
Do you Tweet, Post, Digg, and Blog? We are looking for plugged-in individuals interested in contributing to our WIGeh online presence. Whether it is contributing feature articles or promoting upcoming events within your network, your voice is needed to spread the WIGeh word.
This committee will report on and discuss topics relevant to the video game community. We will reach out to the industry by broadcasting upcoming WIGeh events through social networks. Our committee members will encourage networking and publishing opportunities for our organization.
PR/Marketing & Recruiting
Are you a Type A personality who likes to know every last detail of the current happenings in the industry, are you detail-oriented and gifted at influencing other individuals? You would enjoy participating in the PR/Marketing & Recruiting committee as you will be able to communicate on all upcoming events, meetings and occurrences in the Vancouver gaming industry. As well, it’s a proactive way to get your name known and allows you to lead from a position of prominence.
The committee will need assistance with writing press releases and quick descriptions of events etc for the website, contacting members to ensure assigned tasks are being fulfilled, reaching out to current members and/or potential new members either directly or through innovative new marketing outlets which we’re sure you’ll be helping this committee create.
